Anatoly Karpov and Abel Caballero challenge each other in the world’s biggest game

Anatoly Karpovthe world champion, the grandmaster who has won the most tournaments in history, and Abel Caballeromayor of Vigo and president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), will play a game in the largest chess in the world on the occasion of the Vigo Master Chess 2021 Crossing organized by the mall on September 24 and 25.

The game will be played on a 196 square meter board, with pieces up to 170 centimeters high, made in Spain with 100% recycled material from rubber wheels from Galicia.

Abel Caballero was delighted to accept Karpov’s challenge and commented: “We are going to beat Karpov because this city is capable of taking on any challenge“.

In addition to this event, a tournament in which more than 1,000 players will participate will take place for more than a month starting tomorrow.
